Sustained Investigation 4- TYREEK HILL

For the 4th sustained investigation, I chose to implement the defending NFL champions into my sports related question. I chose to do a solo edit for Tyreek Hill, one of the fastest and most explosive players in the league.
I began the project with this image of Hill. I wanted it to take up a solid chunk of the paper and be one of the main focuses, but leave enough room for other details. I used the quick selection tool in order to get rid of unwanted colors in the background, leaving me with a cleaned up image of only him.
Next, I found this image of the Arrowhead Stadium where the chiefs play and placed it behind hill to serve as the background. I turned the opacity down a decent amount because I wanted there to be contrasting colors with this image a lighter and less visible color, rather than red all over the page.
Next, I added a a color pattern behind Hill that aligns with his jersey and the primary and secondary colors of the Kansas City Chiefs Logo. I used the rectangular marquee tool to ensure that it was symmetric on both sides and centered.
Next, I added a small text box of "T. HILL" in the bottom left corner of the piece simply because I thought it would look cool in that spot. A lot of football helmets have a white stripe like the one I created, with their team name or logo placed on it, so I changed it up a bit by adding his name in that spot instead. Additionally, I found an image of a cheetah, which is Tyreek's nickname, that I then placed in the colored pattern behind hill. I used the quick selection tool to cut out the image and placed it directly on top of Hills head, along with a drop shadow to give it an extra effect.
Next, I added his name on the outer portion of the page, filing up the remainder of the page. I played around with the text in order to make it as appealing to the eye as possible, and settled for "vertical text" with a flag effect on it to make it seem as though the letters are dancing and moving around. Also, I added an additional image of Hill in the bottom left corner that overlaps the large image of him. I added this as I thought it was a cool play on the layers and format of the piece as a whole.
Lastly, to finish up my piece, I added very small details within the background. I used the text box for 2 different things. Inside the yellow line, I added "cheetah" and "10", which is hims number, inside of the red. I inserted these two things just to give the piece more depth and more to look at if one is to truly sit down and grasp everything going on in the image.
